Beatrice (1949) was born into an artistic family of musicians (Simon Admiraal pianist), painters (Cootje Horst) and sculptors (Lidi van Mourik Broekman) and grew up surrounded by creative people. She has long worked with textiles, colours and shapes so it comes as no surprise that observing and creating comes naturally to her. Only at a later age did she start painting at Mariët Hylkema. There she quickly discovered and embraced the freedom of abstract painting with acrylic paint.
Strong and vibrant colour palettes, often with organic shapes, are typical of Beatrice’s paintings. The multilayer aspect brings out the curiosity of the viewer. She is inspired by many good memories of holidays in her beloved France but events from daily life and nature also create a source of ideas. In her works she likes to play with unexpected shapes and the contrast between cool and warm colours. A pleasure for the eye!
Is an artist living in Nijmegen (NL). Her art is inspired by nature and paints with ink and pencil. Her style is Japanese and sumi-e.
Yvonne Wacht has taken painting lessons for six years at various art academies, including the KABK in The Hague.
My creative spirit led me to start drawing and painting from an early age. After finishing high school, I studied fashion & clothing in Haarlem, after which I landed a job at a small advertising firm where I still do some work today. In afterhours I took courses in drawing and painting because that always remained my passion. However, about 10 years ago, through some personal struggles, I temporarily lost the ability to find joy in painting. Thankfully 2 years ago I rekindled my passion for the arts through clay. Sculpting in the SiLo studio takes me away from daily commotions and simultaneously helps me bring something beautiful to life.
Consuelo Plaza Aranda,
Consuelo Plaza Aranda paints with the fury of her Spanish descent, so bright in color, so imaginative in imagery. Emotions such as anger, love, sadness, violence and racism have been painted by her in the most fantastically deformed creatures, people and animals, and together depict this with all kinds of abstract signs, decorative patterns and indefinable figures.
Consuelo Plaza Aranda was born in Madrid in 1950. In 1973 she obtained a PhD in Fine Arts, Archeology and Letters from the Universidad Autonoma of Madrid. In 1984 to 1989 she attended art academies in the Netherlands and Spain; she worked at the Museo de Ampurias (Gerona) and Cartagena (Murcia) in Spain.
In her works she uses various techniques such as oil paint, watercolor, Indian ink and mixed techniques. Consuelo Plaza Aranda developed into a sensitive visual artist; she does not shy away from experimenting. Her creativity is to reorganize sensory perceptions; technology, a means perceived in the senses, is only a reason for this. Several works have been nominated at exhibitions in Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, France and the United States.
Marja Driesen Diessel
Marja Driessens-Diessel is a passionate and versatile photographer who is close to her subject. Her themes range from the rugged, empty nature of cold northern countries to ultra-modern architecture that she finds in warm, southern cultures.
